Booking an Appointment
You can book an appointment for any of my treatments by either phoning, texting or emailing me, you will find all my contact details in the “Contact Me” page on this website. Should you phone whilst I am with a client, do not hesitate to leave me a message with your name and number and I will phone you back as soon as I am free.
I understand that week days can be quite hectic, so weekend appointments (including Sundays), can also be arranged, subject to availability.
I am always here to help, so please feel free to contact me if you’d like to discuss any of my treatments in more detail or need some advice prior to booking an appointment, especially if you are new to certain treatments. You can find quite a bit of information in the “About my Treatments” page on this website, but sometimes you will have other questions that I am happy to answer.
Consultation & Homecare
Due to the holistic nature of my business, I would like to mention the importance of finding out as much as possible about you as a whole person (holistic therapy focusses on treating the “whole”), so I can tailor the treatment and make it as effective as possible for you.
This is why we spend a good 15 minutes prior to your treatment taking a look at different aspects of your life and your medical history to establish a long term picture of your health (both physically and psychologically). I want you to get the most out of your treatments and this is the best way to ensure this. If you have the time it would also be nice to spend 10-15 minutes after your treatment with a nice hot herbal tea or glass of water whilst relaxing, talking about your experience of the treatment you have received and for me to give you some aftercare information to support the work I do between treatments yourself (if you wish).
With any of the treatments I offer, it is always advisable to have them on a day when you don’t plan to do anything too strenuous or stressful afterwards to allow your body to fully absorb the beneficial treatment it has received and for you to feel the full effects of the therapy. I will also advise you about other things to be aware of after you have had a treatment.
Please make me aware of any medical conditions you are suffering from at the time of booking if possible, so I can advise you appropriately and plan your treatment accordingly. I also need to make sure that the treatment is safe for you to have should you suffer from a more serious health condition and assess whether consent from your GP is required. Pregnancy treatments are available after the first trimester. We will also have a chance to discuss your requirements during your consultation prior to receiving the treatment.
Complementary Therapy is used alongside conventional medical care. Always consult your GP or a health professional for urgent medical attention and advice.
Clients under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during the entire session. Informed written consent must be provided by the parent or legal guardian. Please inform me at the time of booking if the treatment is for a client under the age of 17.
A contraindication means that you are either not able to receive a treatment (very rare) or it may need to be adapted or limited to certain areas of your body. Contraindications are there for your health and safety along with that of your therapist.
A total contraindication is a situation where a therapy needs to be avoided completely for medical or non-medical reasons.
A relative contraindication is a situation in which a massage practitioner may proceed with the treatment with the consent of the client’s GP or specialist, however, the therapist will need to modify techniques related to the client’s condition e.g. using lighter pressure.
A local contraindication is a situation in which a local area of the client’s body should not be massaged under any circumstances. This may be for the client’s own comfort, to avoid spreading infection or to avoid further injury.
Don’t worry too much if you are suffering from any ailments or conditions, it is very rare that it is totally unsafe to have a treatment and I will always advise you clearly if you either need the consent of your GP or specialist or whether we can go ahead with the therapy with or without adaptations.
I accept cash or card payments for your convenience.
Here at the Pure Shores Wellness I run a schedule of appointments that follow on from one another (I allow plenty of time for your consultation, treatment and aftercare) so, out of consideration for other clients, but also for yourself, so it doesn’t shave off any of your very precious treatment time, please do arrive on time for your appointment.
If you cannot make your booked time slot, please call me on 07939 331202 or message me as soon as possible to advise me of this. If the appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice and it is not an emergency, such as sickness, then the full treatment cost will be charged. In events of sickness the appointment will need to be cancelled by 7am on the day of the appointment or the full treatment cost will be charged!
